he San Antonio
Breast Cancer Symposium®
is hosting
its inaugural SABCS® Celebration,
a night of live
music, dancing,
and camaraderie,
as an acknowledgment
of
appreciation for
the inspiring work
of its dedicated community
of researchers
and clinicians. The
SABCS® invites all attendees
of the 2024 Symposium
to join the festivities.
" This event will be a great
opportunity to network with
peers, reconnect
with friends
and colleagues,
and have some
fun, " said SABCS®

The Celebration
will be held after the
conclusion of sessions on
Thursday, December 12,
from 8 - 10:30 p.m. in the
Texas Ballroom of the Grand
Hyatt San Antonio Hotel,
next door to the Henry
B. Gonzalez Convention
Center. Attendees will
be treated to a festive
atmosphere, complete with
complimentary beverages
and appetizers.
Attendees should brush up
on their favorite throwback
tunes before a live concert
from 1980s New Wave
tribute band The Spazmatics.
Two can't-miss sessions transform data into
insights for research and clinical practice
THE SAN ANTONIO BREAST CANCER
Symposium® offers something not
every specialty education meeting does
- a reason to stay until the end. To be
specific, SABCS® provides two reasons:
the Year in Review and View from the
Trenches sessions.
The Year in Review session on Friday,
December 13, from 3 - 5 p.m. CST,
distills the best of the preceding year's
meeting presentations, publications,
and clinical questions into four easily
digestible presentations focused on
translational science, early disease,
advanced disease, and basic science.
" The Year in Review is great because
it's a nice, short summary of what the
year brought for breast cancer research
and care. It's a great way to start the
new year, " said Nadia Harbeck, MD,

director of the Breast Center at the LMU
University Hospital in Munich, Germany.
After the Year in Review session, a
30-minute reception break will be held
from 5 - 5:30 p.m.
After the reception break, View
from the Trenches will be hosted from
5:30 - 7 p.m. to close out the 2024
Symposium. The session summarizes
the comprehensive clinical implications
of all the data presented at the
Symposium. Thus, the View from the
Trenches addresses critical issues, with
clinical pearls attendees can put into
immediate practice upon returning to
their institutions.

since 2012. She said she looks forward
to attending
the View from
the Trenches
session every
year because the
session offers an
ideal conclusion to
the preceding
four days of
groundbreaking
research and
innovative poster
presentations.

Sporting bowties, plaid pants,
taped glasses, and pocket
protectors, The Spazmatics
transport audiences back to
the '80s through style and
sound, playing covers of familiar
songs that are sure to get
crowds singing and dancing.
" We are excited to see firsttime
attendees and familiar
faces at the Celebration, " Dr.
Kaklamani said. " It will be a
wonderful night, and we hope
everyone will join us. "
