About UEG
Young GI Network
Supporting the new generation of
digestive healthcare specialists worldwide

The UEG Young GI Network is a platform that provides young
digestive healthcare specialists with an opportunity to connect
with their peers, participate in educational and training programmes,
get involved in UEG's and other societies' activities.
Our Young Talent Group (YTG)
is dedicated to empowering
the next generation of digestive health professionals by providing
resources, training, and opportunities for success. In collaboration
with senior UEG volunteers, the YTG represents the
approximately 6,000 myUEG Young GI Associates in other UEG
committees and groups. They support various UEG activities
and facilitate connections among young digestive healthcare
specialists across Europe.
The Friends of YTG
comprised of young representatives from
UEG member societies, held their annual in-person meeting
in Vienna in April 2023. During the meeting, they conducted
a workshop to analyse and discuss the findings of the UEG
White Book 2 , resulting in a valuable contribution to UEG - a
journal article titled " Young GI Angle: The young perspective of
the UEG White Book 2 by the Friends of the UEG Young Talent
Group " .
The meeting also provided an excellent opportunity
for the Friends of YTG to establish new contacts and exchange
ideas with colleagues from across Europe and the Mediterranean
region.

UEG facilitated 38 Clinical Visiting Fellowship awardees to
visit European centres throughout 2023, enabling them to study
new procedures, acquire additional skills, and broaden their
professional network. UEG connected these fellows with prestigious
European host centres and provided financial support of
€ 1,250 each. For the list of awardees, refer to page 29.
