Placemaking from 2016 to 2019; she now serves the Institute
in a consulting role. She cofounded Millennium Arts Salon, an art

Yan Krymsky is a principal and design director for Los Angeles-
based Perkins & Will. Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Krymsky has lived in
Los Angeles since age three. Growing up in an immigrant household
gave him a multicultural experience that he shares with many Angelenos,
and an outsider perspective that informs his work. Passion
for art guides his approach to architecture. As the design director
of Perkins & Will's L.A. studio, he promotes the idea that design is
a process by which meaning is discovered through geometric and
material exploration.

Dennis Strait is a principal at Kansas City, Missouri-based Multistudio.
He is an architect, urbanist, landscape architect, and principal
with Multistudio (formerly Gould Evans), a national planning and
design studio with offices in Kansas City, Lawrence, New Orleans,
Phoenix, and San Francisco. In 2019, Strait colaunched Kansas City
Public Library's signature event series, " Making a Great City, " which
explores ways to foster healthy growth and examine development
decisions that can strengthen fiscal stability and reduce disparities in
wealth across communities.
