Standing 1,401 feet (427 m) tall and spanning 1.7 million square feet (158,000 sq
m), One Vanderbilt Avenue is the tallest office tower in Midtown Manhattan and
the second-tallest office tower in New York City. One Vanderbilt transforms the civic
experience of the Grand Central District by introducing accessible pathways to one
of the city's largest transportation hubs. The skyline-defining tower also represents a
new model for how the private sector and government can work together to deliver
crucial public infrastructure benefits.

POPCourts! was born out of the pandemic and civil unrest and developed in concert
with the mayor's INVEST South/West initiative. The goal was to provide a safe community
space that residents could enjoy outdoors during the pandemic as well as
create a visible feature along Chicago Avenue, strengthening the corridor and the
neighborhood. Designers transformed an empty city lot into three zones, or " courts, "
each serving a variety of community functions with flexible programming, allowing
activities to pop up and transform over time.
Saigon Park
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA

SITE SIZE: 27.2 acres (11 ha)
Located at the headwaters of Cooksville Creek, Saigon Park is a multifunctional and
climate-resilient public open space. The park's recreational and cultural amenities
are integrated with stormwater infrastructure that prevents an estimated $5 million
in flood damages to downstream homes and businesses each time a large storm
event occurs.
