DEVELOPER/OWNER: Ayala Land Inc.
DESIGNERS: Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (master plan-SD); Leandro V. Locsin Partners
(architect of record)

Ayala Triangle Gardens, a mixed-use landmark at the northern node of Makati City,
Manila's foremost central business district area, consists of a high-specification
40-story office tower, a 23-story luxury hotel, and a four-story lifestyle mall. The
master-planned community preserves the value of existing buildings amid a natural
landscape while occupying a minimal footprint through use of a unique podium
design that integrates sloped facades doubling as green lawns, grand public staircases,
a sunken amphitheater, and landscaped civic spaces.
Brookfield Place Sydney
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
YEAR OPENED: 2022
USES: Office, retail, café, shop, market stalls, parking structure, end-of-trip facilities,
transit space, ancillary plant
DEVELOPER/OWNER: Brookfield Properties
DESIGNERS: Make Architects (design architect), Architectus (delivery architect)
SITE SIZE: 0.44 hectares (1.09 ac)
Located in the heart of Sydney's central business district, Brookfield Place Sydney
is a complex, 74,772-square-meter (804,839 sq ft) mixed-use project that has reconfigured
and densified a prime location over one of Sydney's busiest transit hubs.
It comprises a 27-story, six-Star Green Star office tower that has been merged with
the adjacent listed (and restored) 10-story Shell House, prime retail space, and an
innovative new entrance for the local MTR rail station that establishes multiple new
pedestrian connections.
Claremont on the Park
CLAREMONT, AUSTRALIA
YEAR OPENED: 2016
USES: Residential, retail, commercial, parks/open space, community, sports facility
DEVELOPER/OWNER: DevelopmentWA
DESIGNER: Hames Sharley (estate architect)
SITE SIZE: 9.4 hectares (23.2 ac)
Pursuing a policy of urban infill, the Western Australia state government converted
an underused site in the prosperous Perth suburb of Claremont to create 850 new
homes, 11,700 square meters (126,000 sq ft) of commercial space, and 2,600
square meters (280,000 sq ft) of retail space. Bounded by the Perth-to-Fremantle rail
line that had long divided the suburb, the site incorporated a rail reserve used for ad
hoc public parking, along with the aging Claremont Oval football stadium and surrounding
contaminated embankments and dilapidated stands, creating a connected
and sustainable transport-oriented development with a distinctive sense of place
and a large amount of publicly accessible open space.
