Quay Quarter Sydney involves the transformation of two city blocks in Sydney's Circular
Quay area centred around the visionary adaptive reuse of a 50-year-old office
tower. The redevelopment has since acted as a catalyst for further urban renewal
in the city. The stunning transformation of Quay Quarter Tower adopts a world-first
design approach, with architects stripping the building down to concrete and steel
before grafting new floor plates to the original core, thereby doubling net lettable
area to 89,000 sq metres.
Tiexiang Temple Riverfront

The Tiexiang Temple Riverfront was conceived as part of efforts to support a new
community for workers of a recently built high-tech zone in the suburbs of Chengdu,
the capital of China's Sichuan Province. By restoring an historical temple complex
and nearby ancient canal, the project has created a combined open-space/mixeduse
facility that has transformed a formerly rundown neighbourhood into a vibrant
and dynamic community.
Xichuan River Ecological Restoration
ZHENGZHOU, CHINA

SITE SIZE: 34 acres (13.75ha)
The Xichuan River Ecological Restoration project is located approximately 40 kilometers
east of the City of Zhengzhou in China's Henan province. The project's goal
was the rejuvenation of 1.5 kilometres of heavily polluted canal/river flowing through
the middle of a newly built residential precinct, together with the creation of a linear
park running along each bank. Apart from the project's ambition to restore the river,
another priority was the creation of a public recreational facility allowing nearby residents
to enjoy various new activities created along different parts of the river course.
