Philip Randolph Houses * Harlem, New York, New York This 283-unit redevelopment effort preserves and rehabilitates 36 " old law " tenements constructed in the 1890s in central Harlem. The development serves residents earning 30 to 80 percent of AMI; some units are covered by Section 8 vouchers. Other improvements include modern layouts, accessible design, and landscaped outdoor spaces. Blooming Meadows South and Blooming Meadows North * Bloomington, Minnesota Nonprofit developer Aeon preserved 306 units of naturally occurring affordable housing while building an additional 172 affordable homes within walking distance of the Mall of America. Ken Soble Tower * Hamilton, Ontario, Canada This ground-breaking project rehabilitates a postwar apartment tower to meet Passive House EnerPHit standards-reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 94 percent and serving as a pilot for net zero-ready housing renewal projects.
