Bottleworks District redevelops a former Coca-Cola bottling plant into a thriving
mixed-use development. The project respects the site's history by maintaining the
facility's original features through restoration, while embracing innovation with
seamlessly integrated new buildings. A food hall, boutique hotel, retail, and office
space make this area one of Indiana's top entertainment districts. The project's
internal grid provides a welcoming pedestrian streetscape, connects project elements,
and links to surrounding historical neighborhoods. Bottleworks District
exemplifies opportunities at mid-market levels through thoughtful design and
market success.
Canary Landing Maple House

SITE SIZE: 2.58 acres (1.04 ha)
Maple House is the first phase of Canary Landing, a 12-acre (4.85 ha), mixed-use
rental community developed through a public/private partnership. Maple House has
770 units (30 percent of them affordable) that have access to 40,000 square feet
(3,700 sq m) of state-of-the-art exercise facilities, art studios, and outdoor dining
spaces. Canary Landing indistinguishably integrates equal-standard market and
affordable units in a checkerboard layout. Sustainability features include a green
roof, a self-shading facade, and solar walls. The mixed-used development uses creativity
and distinctive architecture to transform the former brownfield site.
Cleveland Foundation Headquarters
CLEVELAND, OHIO, UNITED STATES

This 55,000-square-foot (5,110 sq m) LEED Gold-certified mass timber building hosts
an office for the Cleveland Foundation and a community space in Cleveland's MidTown
neighborhood. Through a neighborhood engagement process, the foundation
developed a vibrant and welcoming headquarters that includes an art gallery, dance
studio, nonprofit cafe, and conference center. This project provides a model for the
philanthropic sector to be more engaged in the communities it serves.
