After Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Houston undertook a first-of-its-kind effort: bringing together agencies and community members to respond to escalating climate risk, integrating physical and social resilience for the city's most vulnerable. Completed in 2023 and led by the City of Houston in collaboration with Page, SWA, and a larger team, the Alief Neighborhood Center & Park is a national blueprint for social infrastructure-weaving together 37 acres of stormwatertolerant open space, three city agencies under one roof, and miles of linear trails serving Houston's most ethnically and generationally diverse neighborhood. With the " Biggest Front Porch in Texas, " the project was designed in close collaboration with local stakeholders, celebrating Alief's rich culture while preparing it for a climate-changed future. © SWA | Maribel Amador Learn more: swagroup.com | @swagroup Contact: business@swagroup.comhttp://www.swagroup.com http://www.twitter.com/swagroup
