EV635 is designed to be a bridge between the architectural past and present, a
building that blends in while also being true to its new functions, occupants, and
needs. The building's double facade maintains its aesthetic integrity while allowing
commercial spaces to showcase themselves and minimize signage, which facilitates
the connection among pedestrians, nature, and architecture.

Governors Island's park in New York Harbor provides a vital resource and destination

design and programming, including its elevation above the 100-year floodplain,
