Plant Riverside District is the culmination of an extensive eight-year process, resulting
in the comprehensive restoration of a landmark historic site, a quarter-mile (0.4
km) extension of the city's renowned river walk, creation of significant new public
spaces, and compatible mixed-use infill at varying scales. It represents the most
significant expansion of Savannah's urban core in modern history.
Promenade Park
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA

Promenade Park transformed the banks of the St. Marys River into a signature space
for recreation, relaxation, and reflection for the downtown Fort Wayne community
and surrounding areas. The park spreads awareness about caring for the river and
brings the urban community closer to the natural environment.
Riverfront Park
SPOKANE, WASHINGTON

SITE SIZE: 100 acres (41 ha)
The site of the 1974 World's Fair, Riverfront Park unifies three river channels and
waterfalls with park space and cultural treasures. The reimagined Riverfront Park
reconnects people to the river, restores ecology, reengages with the heritage of
the Spokane Tribe, serves as a venue for community events, and is embraced as a
beacon of civic pride.
