Located next to Berlin Central Station, EDGE Grand Central Berlin is the first building
in Germany pre-certified for both the DGNB Platinum and WELL Core v2 GOLD certifications.
About 3,500 sensors supply data for smart, needs-based, and sustainable
building management. Building uses are supported by an IP backbone and a cloudbased
building management system in which all data are collected and analyzed.
The EDGE Grand Central building essentially runs itself, with the objective of maximizing
building performance and energy efficiency.
Ernest the Garden and Ernest the Park

The former office buildings of Solvay were transformed into two mixed real estate
projects, Ernest the Garden and Ernest the Park. The site at Rue du Prince Albert 33
was redeveloped in 2014 as Ernest the Garden, consisting of a nursing home, student
housing, and apartments, with the developers aiming to preserve as much of
the existing building as possible. Redevelopment of the site at Rue du Prince Albert
44 started in 2017, keeping the existing facades to preserve the historic character of
the building. A hotel, apartments, and commercial spaces were newly constructed.
Gare Maritime
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM
YEAR OPENED: 2021
USES: Retail, food and beverage, events space, workspaces (offices as well as
" production activities of immaterial goods " as defined in the Brussels Region),
public utilities (education), interior green space, public spaces.
TOTAL BUILT SURFACE: 74,500 square meters (802,000 sq ft)

SITE SIZE: 4 hectares (10 ac)
The Gare Maritime project involved renovation of a former freight station to provide
workspace, retail, a food hall, equipment space, and event spaces. The building,
redesigned by architects Neutelings-Riedijk, will be the new focal point of the entire
Tour & Taxis site. The integrity of the century-old industrial building has been preserved
in the redevelopment process while its function has been modernized with
durability in mind.
