YourLegislators Cooperative representatives meet with congressmen and staffers B oard members, CEOs and staffers representing cooperatives in Virginia assembled in Washington, D.C. for a reception with congressmen and staff June 15 on Capitol Hill. Congressmen Bob Goodlatte (Va.-6th), Morgan Griffith (Va.-9th) and Dave Brat (Va.-7th) attended the reception, as well as staff representatives from the office of Congressman Bobby Scott (Va.-3rd). The event was held as a way to connect congressmen and cooperative leaders to discuss issues that could affect the more than 1.2 million Virginians served by electric cooperatives. " It's important that we communicate with our legislators to remind them of the impact potential legislation could have on our members' electric bills, " said Brian Mosier, vice president of governmental affairs for the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives, which coordinated the legislative meetings with the assistance of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
