Mark Herring,
Attorney General
ark Herring was sworn in as Virginia's 48th Attorney
General in January 2014, promising to put the law
before politics, and fairly represent all Virginians.
Herring has lived most of his life in Loudoun County, Va.
After graduating with honors from the University of Richmond
School of Law, he established a successful law practice in
Leesburg. He is the principal in the law firm Herring & Turner,
P.C., working in the areas of business and corporate matters,
land use and zoning, civil litigation, and municipal law. As a
community leader, Herring is a recent past chair for the United
Way campaign in Loudoun County. He is a member of the
Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, Leesburg Kiwanis
Club, Keep Loudoun Beautiful, Loudoun County Bar
Association, NAACP - Loudoun Chapter, Olive Branch Lodge
#114 and Alexandria Scottish Rite.
Herring and his wife, Laura, have been married for 24 years.
They have two children, Peyton and Tim, ages 20 and 17. They
are members of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his law degree, Herring holds bachelor's and
master's degrees from the University of Virginia in economics
and foreign affairs.

alph Northam, Virginia's new Lieutenant Governor,
grew up working on the Chesapeake Bay before
attending Virginia Military Institute, where he
graduated with distinction and was president of the Honor
Court.
After graduating from Eastern Virginia Medical School,
Northam served eight years active duty in the United States
Army, rising to the `rank` of major. Upon his return from
treating soldiers injured in Operation Desert Storm,
Northam began practicing pediatric neurology at Children's
Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk. He also serves
as assistant professor of neurology at Eastern Virginia Medical
School and has 10 years of volunteer service as medical
director for the Edmarc Hospice for Children in Portsmouth.
Northam lives in Norfolk with his wife Pam, an elementaryschool
science teacher. They have two children: Wes, who
attends Eastern Virginia Medical School, and Aubrey, who
graduated from the University of Virginia this year.
" Growing up on a farm in a rural community on Virginia's
Eastern Shore, I understand the critical role that our electric
cooperatives play, and I am grateful for the services that they
provide, " Northam says.
" As Lieutenant Governor, I hope your members will reach
out to me if I can ever be of assistance, " he concludes.

" As Attorney General, I have the responsibility and opportunity
to fight for consumers and ensure they have a sufficient
voice in the regulatory process, " says Herring.
" The consumer-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperatives
proudly serve more than a million Virginians and I look forward
to working with them to make sure Virginians continue to
have access to affordable and reliable power, " he concludes. 
