" Bailey discovers a laboratory in the
basement and becomes subject to a
host of inexplicable encounters. With
help from a visiting nurse, Bailey must
figure out who and what used to live in
that house and how to save her family,
all while deciding whether or not to
save herself. "
WRITING A WINNER
After completing the screenplay,
Hall submitted it to some film festivals
and received several accolades,
including:
* Finalist - 2020 New Orleans Horror
Film Festival
* Semi-Finalist - 2020 New York City
Horror Film Festival
* Official Selection - 2020 Southern
Horror Film Festival
* Official Selection - 2020 Atlanta
Women's Film Festival
In addition, she also submitted
her screenplay to the Academy of
Motion Picture Arts and Sciences'
2020 Academy Nicholl Fellowship
competition, and placed in the
top 20%, beating out 6,300 other
screenplays.
" It's really been a dream come true, "
Hall says of the choice to follow her
lifelong dream. " I'm really glad I took
the journey that I took. I learned a lot
about the industry in Los Angeles, but
I'm also glad I came back home, because
the inspiration and the elements for
the screenplay were all local. "
With her first-ever, highly lauded
screenplay still available for purchase
and production, she has already begun
working on her second.
" I'm not going to give too much
away about this one just yet, " she says,
" but it's an action movie that's kind of
like 'Marathon Man' meets 'High
Noon.' " 
" I learned a lot about the industry
in Los Angeles, but I'm also glad
I came back home, because the
inspiration and the elements for
the screenplay were all local. "

Hey, students - Our #PowerfulCareers
campaign is sponsoring an essay contest
to explain why energy-related jobs
are important.
HERE'S WHAT IT'S ABOUT:
* Essays will be accepted starting March 1
through Sept. 1 through our submission form
at vmdaec.com/powerfulcareers. No mail-ins
will be accepted.
* Essays should focus on one career opportunity.
Explain what the job is, why it matters and
how it relates to the energy business.
Hint: Your local co-op is a great resource.
* Grades 7-9 should submit essays of 500 to 750
words. Grades 10-12 should submit essays of
800-1,000 words.
* Essays will be judged by the staff of the Virginia,
Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric
Cooperatives based on originality, grammar,
creativity and understanding of the subject
matter.
* First prize in each age category is a $100 gift
card. Second prize is a $50 gift card. Third prize
is a $25 gift card.
