gets a lot of reader
interaction.
Following each issue,
we hear from
hundreds of readers
through email,
Facebook posts,
website-feedback portals, phone calls,
letters, faxes and occasionally,
in-person visits.
Contests such as History Mystery,
WhatzIt, Super Sleuth and our Youth
Art Contest generate, annually, thousands
of reader contacts from all corners of
the Commonwealth.
Two of our popular non-contest readerinteraction
features are Say Cheese and
Commonwealth Kitchen. Say Cheese is
a long-running reader-photo feature, and
Commonwealth Kitchen is our readerrecipe
feature. Over time, both have
morphed into theme-based presentations.
Commonwealth Kitchen this year
is focusing on simple, healthy recipes
featuring local ingredients and fresh
foods, the type of farm-based diet our
forebears enjoyed from the garden, the
fields and the forests.
If you have recipes that fit this bill,

Say Cheese has showcased reader
photos for years. Today, Say Cheese is a
themed array of reader-submitted photos
depicting people, places and pets that are
chuckle-worthy, awe-inspiring or simply
sweet. A good rule of thumb is that if
you're emailing the file as a .jpg, it should
be at least 1 megabyte in size (3 MB is
ideal). So, if you have interesting digital
images, check to see the files are at least
a megabyte in size and send 'em to
saycheese@co-opliving.com.
And, of course, you can still send
prints through the mail to Say Cheese,
c/o Cooperative Living, P.O. Box 2340,
Glen Allen, VA 23058-2340. We love
that, and we love hearing from you! 
