This November, Virginia voters will select their next governor. Cooperative Living is pleased to bring you

he COVID-19 pandemic
has dealt a blow to rural
broadband, jobs, health care
and education. But I've rebuilt our
economy before and I'll do it again.
As Virginia's 72nd Governor, despite
a massive budget deficit, the effects
of the Great Recession and sequestration, I built the
New Virginia Economy. I secured a record $1 billion
investment in education and created 200,000 goodpaying
jobs. I grew personal income by 14% and lowered
unemployment from 5.7% to 3.3%. Every Virginia city
and county saw lower unemployment; most rural counties
saw it reduced by nearly 50%.
As Virginia's next governor, I will rebuild a stronger

post-COVID economy and invest in rural communities.
That starts with working with Virginia's co-ops and other
stakeholders to deliver universal broadband, which is
critical to expanding access to education, the workforce
and health care. I will also make record investments in
a world-class education for every student and expand
essential workforce development programs that will help
Virginians step into good-paying jobs, like the Power Line
Worker Training School that grew frommy Workforce
Credentials Act.
I'm committed to securing rural Virginia's place in the
21st century economy, which includes securing Virginia's
clean energy future. The electric co-ops in Virginia have
been great partners in protecting our climate, increasing
energy efficiency and creating clean energy jobs. Thanks
to the bold targets the commonwealth has established,
Virginia is expected to create 13,000 jobs in clean energy
each year. As we transition to clean energy, I'll partner
with local leaders to establish rural Virginia as the energy
innovation capital of the East Coast.
Local voices will lead the way as we revitalize main
streets, grow businesses, and support affordable childcare
and workforce needs - attracting new
industries, tourism, jobs and sustainable
economic growth. I'm ready to bring in
sweeping change for Virginia's economy. 

irginia should be the best
place to live, work and
raise a family.
Unfortunately, it's not. One
party Democratic control is failing
Virginians: Our recovery from the
pandemic ranks in the bottom 10
among states, our students are behind in school,
violent crime has risen to 20-year highs and much of
government, like the Virginia Employment Commission
and Department of Motor Vehicles, is broken. People
are voting with their feet and leaving the
commonwealth.
It's time for bold leadership. I will make sure Virginia
Glenn Youngkin
has better-paying jobs, the best schools, the safest
communities and a government that works for you.
My game plan will create 400,000 jobs and make sure
every student graduates, career or college ready.
I will cut exploding costs for families and relieve
the burdens of inflation and taxes. Cutting regulations
creates jobs and will make it easier for innovators and
entrepreneurs to get small businesses moving again.
This includes fast-tracking broadband to bridge
the digital divide and unlock the digital potential of
rural Virginia.
I will restore our high standards for schools and our
students, ban critical race theory, invest in our teachers
and schools and empower parents with real choices.
I will defend, not defund, our law enforcement
heroes, end human trafficking and rescue our failing
mental health system. And I will make state government
honest, efficient and modern.
While moving forward on these priorities, your
constitutional rights will be protected.
The result will be a commonwealth where businesses
can prosper, students can thrive, communities are
safe, and people - not politicians - are in charge.
It's going to take a new kind of leader,
not a failed politician looking for a second
chance, to make it happen. When I am
governor, we will get it done together. 
