Are you curious to test your own superstitious nature?re
Look over the following statements and decide if you
believe what you are reading. Encourage your parents
and grandparents to do the same checklist. You might bebe
surprised at their responses!
CHECK ANY THAT YOU BELIEVE:
Step on a crack; you'll break your mother's back.
Break a mirror and you'll have 7 years of bad luck.
A rabbit's foot brings good luck.
Never open an umbrella indoors.
A black cat crossing your path will bring bad luck.
An itchy palm means money is coming to you.
Bad luck comes in threes.
You believe in " knocking on wood. "
Spilled salt must be tossed over your shoulder.
It's good luck to find a horseshoe.
If your ears ring or burn, it means someone
is talking about you.
A cat will try to take the breath from a baby.
It's good luck to find a penny.
Washing a car will make it rain.
It's a bad omen if a bird flies into a window.
Throwing a coin in a fountain will bring good luck.
Wishes made on shooting stars come true.
Wishes made on birthday cake candles come true.
13 is an unlucky number.
Finding a four-leaf clover brings good luck.
Eating black-eyed peas, collard greens and
pork on New Year's Day will bring you prosperity
in the coming year.
Even though there is no proof that magical thinking
about controlling or predicting the unknown is logical
or sound, superstitious rituals endure. Today, skyscrapersers
still omit a floor numbered 13, athletes continue to believeeve
in lucky jersey numbers, and someone will almost alwaysays
say, " Bless you, " when you sneeze.
People will forever look for ways to chase off bad
luck and usher in good luck. So, on Halloween night,
will you avoid black cats, cover your ears if an owl hootsts
and wear a hat to protect your hair? Hopefully, it will be
a fun evening, with no mishaps ...Knock on wood! 
