A Boost for Road Trips
Hit the road with WanderLove!
That's the idea behind the new Virginia
Tourism Corp.'s campaign, which is
designed to boost close-to-home
destinations during the COVID-19
crisis.
More than 90 tourism organizations
are sharing in nearly $900,000 to
boost road trips this fall.
For example, the Northern Neck
Tourism Commission and Heart of
Appalachia Tourism Authority will
work with Charlottesville to do crosspromotion
and drive visitation to all
parts of Virginia. Other grants of about
$10,000 went to tourism bureaus and
agencies from southwest Virginia to
the Eastern Shore.
" The WanderLove campaign is a
great way to showcase a fun, relaxing
Virginia vacation while also staying
safe, " says Brian Ball, state secretary
of commerce and trade.
