A nice surprise for Mexicana and Aeromexico passengers— both airlines still offer snacks on short-haul flights and full meals on both medium- and long-haul flights. Clients living on the west coast can also take advantage of Alaska Airlines’ (alaskaair.com) daily nonstops from its Los Angeles hub to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos. From Seattle, they can choose from four nonstops a week to Cancun and daily nonstops from Seattle to Puerto Vallarta and to Los Cabos. On June 5, US Airways (usairways.com) will begin flying nonstop from Charlotte to Los Cabos five times a week, adding to its roster of convenient nonstops to Mexico from various U.S. airports: Phoenix to Puerto Vallarta, La Guardia to Cancun, Charlotte to Cozumel, Philadelphia to Cancun. It also offers a wide variety of easy connections from cities such as Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City and San Diego. From its hub in Houston, Continental Airlines (continental. com) flies clients nonstop to Acapulco, Cancun, Cozumel, Merida, Morelia, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Oaxaca, Leon/ Guanajuato/Bajio and Mexico City. From the east coast, they can fly from Newark to Cancun, Acapulco and Cozumel, among others—Continental Airlines flies to 30 gateways in Mexico, in fact. Of course, there are many other airlines that fly to different destinations in Mexico on a daily basis—including American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines—and offer service to both east and west coasters in the U.S. and Canada. There are also a number of local airlines providing convenient connections within Mexico, including Volaris and VivaAerobus, which has its own buses for greater savings in ground transportation from the airport to the destination city. Taking a bus from one place to the next can be a fun experience in Mexico, especially with the many first-class options available—hundreds of them, in fact. Primera Plus (primeraplus. com.mx), for instance, can take visitors from San Miguel de Allende to Guanajuato in 1.5 hours for about $7.50. With Turistar Lujo (etn.com.mx) they can travel from Mexico City to Cuernavaca in style for less than $10, enjoying reclining seats with leg extensions, their own reading lights, self-service coffee and water and other creature comforts. ●

Flights to Mexico are so plentiful, convenient and affordable these days, it’s a cinch to have any number of family and friends join couples for their special day and also enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of this exciting country. From Los Angeles, travelers can choose from a wide range of nonstops, including five times a week to Leon/Guanajuato/Bajio, six times a week to Morelia (MLM) and daily to Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta. Also available: two nonstops a week from Atlanta to Cancun. Now offering a direct flight from Washington, D.C.’s Dulles Airport to Cancun, Aeromexico also flies nonstop to Mexico City from cities such as New Orleans, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Toronto, Denver and Albuquerque; additionally, Aeromexico Connect offers flights from Mexico City to a host of local airports, including Oaxaca and Acapulco.
