GENERAL HUNTING INFORMATION
Dear Hunters,
When I became director of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, one of my top priorities was to help get kids
outside. The Wyoming outdoors where I grew up, explored and hunted made some of the best memories of my life.
It's where I harvested my first deer, pronghorn and elk, and taught my kids and grandkids to do the same.
In the future, we need to have people who are passionate about wildlife and the outdoors to ensure we continue to
have exceptional wildlife resources and outdoor opportunities. It's time to show our future generations why wildlife,
outdoors and conservation mean so much to Wyoming.
As the director of Game and Fish and a fellow hunter, I encourage you to find ways to give kids opportunities and
experiences that get them hooked on the outdoors. You are a model for future generations, and now is the time
as a conservationist to teach and exhibit hunter safety and ethics to your children, friends and family members.
Teaching others about hunter ethics instills a profound sense of responsibility toward conservation stewardship.
These Antelope, Deer and Elk regulations will help you become more knowledgeable and confident with Wyoming's
laws and regulations while you work to fill the freezer or mentor a new hunter.
Understanding these rules and holding yourself to the highest level of hunting ethics and safety benefits wildlife and
all who enjoy it. Your deep appreciation for Wyoming's wild animals and wild places is reflected in the tremendous
diversity and abundance of wildlife in our state - both hunted and not hunted. Your support is incredibly important
to the department, too. The majority of our funding comes from sportspeople.
I'm looking forward to the season, and I hope you are too. Take in the land, marvel at the vast landscapes and enjoy
the wild spaces of the great Wyoming outdoors. I wish you the best of luck this season.
