INSPIRE A KID Get out and go fishing The weather is warming up and it is a great time to get out and do some fishing. Adults must have a fishing license to legally fish in Wyoming, but what about kids? If you're under the age of 14 and a Wyoming resident, you don't need a license or a conservation stamp. However, you must follow the same rules as those with licenses and conservation stamps in terms of the number of fish you can keep. Be sure to get a copy of the 2022 fishing regulations for that information. If you're between the ages of 14 and 17, you must have a valid Wyoming fishing license and conservation stamp. A 12-month youth fishing license is available for purchase. If you are 18 or older, you must have a valid Wyoming fishing license and conservation stamp if purchasing a 12-month license. There is one day this month where kids and adults can go fishing and not worry about a license or conservation stamp. Saturday, June 4 is Free Fishing Day in Wyoming. Each year the Wyoming Game and Fish Department designates the first Saturday of National Boating and Fishing Week as a free fishing day when anyone can fish in Wyoming without a fishing license. The Wind River Reservation and Yellowstone National Park are excluded and do not participate in Free Fishing Day.
