The Wyoming Game and Fish Department's hunting forecast has the information you want to know for fall pursuits By Game and Fish staff E lk hunting should once again be good around Wyoming. Those who drew a moose tag should have ample opportunities to harvest an animal. Pronghorn numbers, overall, are down, but those who drew licenses should do well. Mule deer are still being monitored for chronic wasting disease, and hunters again will play a big part in that effort. Drought conditions persist in certain areas of the state - some worse than others - but localized precipitation at key times this spring and summer helped wildlife habitat which in turn should benefit hunters. In a nutshell, that's the 2022 hunting forecast for Wyoming. Of course, this is just a forecast and things can change on a dime depending on Mother Nature. And, hunters also need to put in the effort. This information came from biologists and game wardens from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's eight regions. 18 | October 2022
