Awards & Honors
Tim Berry, P.E., BCEE, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Montana Water Environmental Association (MWEA) and the Montana Section of the American Water Works Association (MSAWWA) annual conference. This award is given in recognition for long-term dedication to the development of excellence in the water and/or wastewater industry and professions, and for significant contributions to the Montana water and/or wastewater industry. Mr. Berry is Senior Supervising Engineer at MorrisonMaierle Inc. He is a Life Member and has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering since 1988. Stephanie C. Bolyard is the 2013 recipient of the Brown and Caldwell Eckenfelder Scholarship Award. She was selected from among hundreds of applicants for the $5,000 scholarship. Ms. Bolyard is an active Student Member and serves on several committees. She is currently Graduate Research Associate of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida. Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D., BCEEM, Hon.D.WRE, Dist.D.NE, F.ASCE, has been re-elected to the Board of Trustees and named president-elect of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Dr. Boulos is President and COO of Innovyze and has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineering Member in Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering since 2011. Glen T. Daigger, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE, received Purdue University’s 2012 Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award. This award was given in recognition of Dr. Daigger’s innovative contributions to the field of environmental engineering, and his international role in water resource policy issues. Dr. Daigger is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of CH2M Hill. He has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering since 1995. Michael J. Conzett, P.E., BCEE, has been elected to serve as NCEES Central Zone Vice President. He received his commission at the 91st NCEES annual meeting, held August 22–25 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Conzett is Vice President of HDR Engineering, Inc. (Omaha, NE) and has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Hazardous Waste Management since 1993. William J. Mielke, P.E., BCEE, was nominated by President Obama to be an advisor for the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC). Mr. Mielke is CEO/President of Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. and has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering since 1992.

Congratulations to John Gerard Ciccotelli, P.E., BCEE, winner of the 2012 Member Get a Member Campaign. Mr. Ciccotelli won a Canon EOS Rebel T3 Digital Camera, a single lens reflex camera ($500 value), in a drawing from among all members who referred applicants to AAEES. Mr. Ciccotelli has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineering Member in Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering since 2011.

On the Move

Stephen J. Hickox, P.E., BCEE, will be CDM Smith’s Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2013. Mr. Hickox has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering since 1989. Steven F. McGowan, P.E., BCEE, has been named the Managing Director of Greeley and Hansen’s Midwest Operations. Mr. McGowan has been a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering since 2005.

In Memoriam

James D. Goff, P.E., BCEE, passed away on May 9, 2012. Mr. Goff was a Life Member and had been a Board Certified Environmental Engineer since 1970. He held specialty certifications in Sanitary Engineering and Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering.
