LETTER FROM THE CEO

Many Thanks

020 is almost in the rearview mirror. Somehow, ILMA got through it, and I'm sure all of you are thankful that
this crazy year is winding down. This time of year, we always reflect on our blessings, and from my vantage
point, there's a lot to be thankful for even in the worst of times:

* We pulled it off - our very first virtual meeting! We couldn't have done it without the support of the
members, more than 500 of whom registered and attended the meeting.
* ILMA's leadership. As usual, our Board and Executive Committee have stepped in and provided extraordinary
support. When we made the decision to go virtual, one big question was whether sponsors would support it.
Without hesitation, Greg Julian stepped up to lead the " Sponsorship Task Force, " which included Richard
Camper, Kent Morris, Dave Croghan, Dave Richards and Chuck Decker. Their efforts helped ILMA retain
crucial sponsorship support for our virtual meeting.
* The Finance Task Force - another group of ILMA volunteers who have worked with me to manage ILMA's
finances at a time when the meeting cancellations caused significant budget shortfalls. Thanks to Chair Mike
Damiani, along with Barb Kudis, Frank Hamilton and Ann Ball.
* President Chuck Decker certainly didn't sign up for this year! But he has navigated through these tough times
with a lot of grace and has been my trusted advisor throughout.
* The ILMA staff. Someone used the word " pivot, " and that's exactly what the team did. We have an extraordinary
team of professionals. They are fearless and tackle every endeavor with a level of confidence that is inspiring.
Martha, thank you for being there to assist with the projects and details that mean so much. Margaret, somehow
you stay ahead of every financial challenge we face, and this year, there were many. Meg, thanks for your
attention to detail and jumping in to manage the " back end " of registration in a way that made it seamless for the
members. Tim, I heard you on the phone so many times - selling your heart out - with key sponsors, and you
made me smile. I love your can-do attitude. Amber, you built out a meeting website (two of them, actually) and
the virtual meeting platform - an entirely new technology - and evolved into an expert overnight, all the while
keeping up with the never-ending flow of your daily workload. Finally, Brenda - you look every new challenge
right in the face and tackle it. Throughout this year, you led the way in developing the resources that kept ILMA
members ahead of the curve.

* Finally, the ILMA members. Thank you for embracing the new technologies that we rolled out throughout
the year, so that we could continue to provide you with relevant information and resources. Whether it was our
Virtual Town Halls or #EssentialILMA, you logged in and participated. Thanks for your confidence in us and for
your forgiveness of the inevitable technical glitches.
I can't wait to see you again when we meet in 2021 for ILMA Engage, June 23-25, at the Park Hyatt Aviara in
Carlsbad, California.
