BIOSYNTHETIC TECHNOLOGIES
LAUNCHES NEW METALWORKING
ADDITIVES

Biosynthetic Technologies launched
a new product line of novel additives
called Biocea for the metalworking
fluids market.
These additives use patented
estolide technology and are biobased,
biodegradable, nonbioaccumulative
and nontoxic, and, according to the
company, they enhance the lubricity,
polarity, film strength, biostability,
hydrolytic stability and oxidative
stability of the fluid.
Mark Miller, CEO of Biosynthetic
Technologies, said that the new product line meets the exacting standards
of metalworking fluid applications
and is highly suitable for the manufacture of environmentally acceptable
lubricants (EAL) formulations.
LSI CHEMICAL SIGNS

On the partnership with Pioneer,
LSI Chemical President Todd Cawley
said, " Pioneer has a robust export
business to more than 20 countries
including Japan, many European
countries, Russia, Taiwan, Chile and
Israel. We feel confident that this is a
start to a long and mutually beneficial
relationship. "
As for the deal with Eco Lubricantes,
Cawley said, " This is an incredible
opportunity to not only expand LSI
Chemical's footprint in Costa Rica, but
to also offer science-backed solutions
which will better the fuels and lubricants of the automotive and industrial
sectors. We see gaps in the market
where our offerings can help dramatically, especially with diesel fuel, and we
are excited to welcome Eco Lubricantes
as a key distribution partner to help fill
these needs. "
