Pilot and Mason product lines; Jeff Baxter,
supply chain director; Mester, director of
corporate development overseeing future
strategic acquisitions and partnerships; and
Susan Leslie, vice president of environmental, health, safety and quality.

R. Schnur has assumed the chairman,
president and CEO roles effective Jan. 2,
2017. Schnur succeeds James L. Hambrick, former chairman and CEO, who

SHIELDS
ILMA was saddened to learn that John
Schaeffer Shields, chairman of Schaeffer
Manufacturing Co., passed away on Dec.
5, 2016, in St. Louis, Mo., at age 91. Described as being the spirit of the company,
Shields was known for his love of Schaeffer's history and for keeping the company
family-owned for future generations. 
Shields' business career began in 1951
at IBM, where he became a top salesperson. Later, he became one of the top
estate planning and life insurance sales
professionals in St. Louis, joining Projected
Planning Co., then W. Alfred Hayes & Co.

In 1981, Schaeffer Mfg. Co. suffered the
tragic loss of its three principals: brother
Tom Shields, president; brother Gwynne
Shields, vice president and production
manager; and Marty Schwab, vice presi-
