INSIDE ILMA

ILMA's 2018 Management Forum, in Fort Lauderdale,
Florida, had a great turnout this year, with a final count of
422 attendees and guests enjoying the beautiful ocean views,
ample networking events and informative industry-related
sessions from notable members and guest speakers. These
included presentations on Trends in the Global Lubricants
Market by Annie Jarquin and Expanding Your Global
Reach: Reducing and Unleashing Export Opportunities with
speakers from the U.S. Export Assistance Center and the
Export-Import Bank of the United States. A panel presentation focused on labeling regulations of the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, obsolete oils
and changing regulations for 303 tractor hydraulic fluids.
Rounding out the industry sessions on Saturday was Robert
Salgueiro, from Infineum, with the ever-popular Infineum
Trends: Driving Toward Balanced Performance.
This year's keynote speaker, Todd Buchholz, grabbed
the attention of attendees with his lively address, Prosperity
Ahead - Or Not? Buchholz spoke of the many factors affecting today's economy, including the stock market, the 2016
U.S. presidential election, the trade deficit and education,
among other things.

Moving along with current events, Chuck Gallagher gave
a timely presentation on Updating Your Harassment Policies in
the Age of #MeToo. Acceptable workplace behavior is evolving,
and Gallagher engaged the audience with anecdotes, current
events and industry-relevant examples to help our members
revamp their internal policies. A sample harassment policy,
and various other meeting presentations, are now available online. Many thanks to all of our Management Forum

ILMA COMMITTEES: RESHAPING IN PROGRESS
With several ILMA committees re-formed and re-energized,
Committee Day started off with a bang at this year's Management Forum. Industry favorites SHERA, Metalworking
Fluids and Engine & Transmission committees all met to
discuss important industry-related issues. The new Global
Affairs & Trade Committee had its inaugural meeting to
discuss the challenges ILMA member companies face when
doing business internationally. Another new committee
to meet this year is the Programs Advisory Committee,
which met to brainstorm new ideas for relevant content
beneficial to members that is designed to appear in different
formats - including meeting programs, Compoundings
articles, webinars and white papers.
GOLF & VOLLEYBALL BRINGING IT HOME
The meeting wrapped up Saturday with the yearly ILMA
Foundation Golf Tournament sponsored by Vanderbilt
Chemicals. This year, we also unveiled a new event, ILMA's
Beach Volleyball Tournament! Participants enjoyed a casual
tournament under blue skies and sun, barefoot on the beach
while enjoying tunes from the '60s, '70s and '80s.
