Synthetic esters are a key ingredient
for formulating high-performance
synthetic lubricants and metalworking
fluids. Synthesized from organic
alcohols and natural or synthetic
fatty acids, synthetic esters are
environmentally friendly lubricant
base stocks that provide excellent
lubricity and additive compatibility.
The manufacturing process and
feedstock selection defines properties
such as viscosity, volatility, stability,
biodegradability and fire resistance.
Zschimmer & Schwarz's synthetic
esters are formulated to provide
the optimal fluid properties for the
intended use. For example, some are
engineered for outstanding oxidative
and thermal stability for hightemperature applications, and others
are designed for low-temperature
applications, such as refrigeration
compressor lubricants.
CHEMETALL EXPANDS
DISTRIBUTION RELATIONSHIP
WITH NEXEO SOLUTIONS
The Surface Treatment global business
unit of the Coatings division of BASF,
operating under the Chemetall brand,
and Nexeo Solutions Inc. announced
the expanded distribution relationship
in the U.S. to include Chemetall's
surface treatment portfolio developed
for the aerospace industry.

PILOT CHEMICAL'S BOB RECHTIN
RETIRES
Bob Rechtin, senior key account
manager at Cincinnati, Ohio-based
Pilot Chemical Co., retired in January
after 13 years. A 43-year veteran of
the chemical sales industry, Rechtin
joined Pilot in 2006 as manager of
North American sales. He graduated
from the University of Cincinnati
with a bachelor's degree in chemistry
and marketing.

PALMER HOLLAND REALIGNS
SALES TEAM
Palmer Holland announced that it
has realigned its sales team, forming
a market-specialized sales force. Up
to this point, the Palmer Holland
sales team was organized by regions
designated purely upon geographic
location. Moving forward, the
realignment structures the sales team
based upon market vertical: agriculture,
CASE, health and nutrition, lubricants
and plastics. This reorganization
was guided by customer feedback
uncovered during a 2018 Voice of the
Customer (VOC) engagement project.
"The sales team, driven by market
vertical team leadership, is specifically
charged to meet principal growth
objectives and deliver the needed
service platforms to customers,"
said Palmer Holland President C.
Bradley Steven. "Our realignment
allows each account manager to focus
on his or her individual area of the
specialty chemical and ingredient
industries. I am very excited about the
heightened level of technical acumen,
responsiveness and service that will
result from our efforts."
