HollyFrontier's Call to Action
Charitable effort at ILMA meetings to aid Wounded Warrior Project

ollyFrontier Lubricants &
Specialty Products has been
a long time ILMA member
and great support to the Association,
attending and sponsoring meetings, as
well as helping to improve the quality
of Compoundings magazine over the
years through advertising dollars. While
HollyFrontier is in the business of marketing lubricants, base stocks, specialty
process oils and wax, the company's
charitable efforts have been garnering
attention as well - specifically with a
wonderful hotel key card program that
has been featured at ILMA meetings to
help support the U.S. military.
The first adaptation of HollyFrontier's hotel key card program started
before Operation Desert Storm in
1991. The company would supply
hotel key cards for trade shows,
including ILMA's annual meetings,
featuring HollyFrontier's information
on one side and 30 minutes of free
phone time on the other. After the start
of Desert Storm, HollyFrontier started
asking customers to drop their cards
in special collection boxes to be sent to
the troops overseas. Thousands of cards
later, HollyFrontier received a thankyou package featuring an American flag
and a signed photograph of that flag in
a B1 bomber from the 201st Red Horse
Squadron. HollyFrontier prefers to keep
a low profile about its efforts to help
the troops - the intention is to keep
the focus on the troops, according to
HollyFrontier. It's the company's hope
that people attending ILMA meetings
notice the hotel key card program and
get inspired to involve their businesses in
philanthropic efforts.
In keeping with that goal, this year
HollyFrontier is slightly changing how

the donations work. For each card
returned to the front desk at hotels
during ILMA meetings, HollyFrontier will donate $5 to the Wounded
Warrior Project.
Peg Connor, who provides marketing services to HollyFrontier, said that
the "industry has been very supportive" of efforts to support the troops.
This year is another opportunity for
ILMA members to show that support
again, and maybe even start charitable
programs of their own.
So, the next time you're checking
out of an ILMA meeting, make sure to
drop that key card in the special box at
the hotel's front desk to help keep this
great program going.
