"When I was 8 years old, I

Keep God first in my life, others
second and myself third."
My other most favorite vacation was our trip to Maui with
my parents and brother in December 2017. We left for Maui a
couple days after Christmas, and I was in my first trimester
with our daughter Caitlin. It was a long trip, but well worth it.
The majority of our days were spent with our toes in the sand,
watching whales from afar. We will continue the tradition this
December."

FATHERLY INFLUENCE

GROWING UP IN THE ASSOCIATION
"It is hard to believe that I have worked at Etna for 15 years!
I started at Etna as an admin assistant to the CEO and vice
president of Business Development, but I've been attending
ILMA meetings since childhood as my father served as president from 1993-1994.
"I think my first ILMA meeting was in Williamsburg, Virginia.
I remember meeting Jeff Leiter and his late wife, Lisa, at that
meeting. Jeff and I exchange Christmas cards to this day, and
I've been able to watch his kids grow up, as he will now mine.
Through ILMA and Etna's network, suppliers have become an
extension of our business and friends. Even as competitors, we
share and exchange information for each other's benefit. Over
the course of my career, my participation in ILMA meetings
has helped shape me as a leader, giving me opportunities to
lead several different committees such as Family Business,
Young Executives and my latest service as Metalworking Fluids
Chair. I now have the fortunate opportunity to serve on ILMA's
Board of Directors."

TRIPS OVER GENERATIONS
"I've been fortunate enough to have traveled extensively over
the course of my life. My most memorable would probably be
a tie between our first vacation with our daughter, Maryanne,
and the trip we made last year to Maui. Our first trip with
Maryanne involved a 12-hour drive to Pinehurst, North Carolina
for an ILMA meeting - continuing the tradition my parents began when I was a child. To date, Maryanne has been to eight
ILMA meetings. Caitlin will make her first ILMA appearance
this October!

"My dad has easily had the biggest influence on my career. He
and I have worked together for 15 years now. The time has flown
by, and I can tell you, it has not always been easy, but there's no
one I'd rather work alongside. Dad is a tireless leader wanting
only what is best for his family and his associates, whom he
considers an extension of his family. In every decision he makes,
he considers the impact it will have on his colleagues first. He is
a man of integrity and eager to learn every day. He reads everything that crosses his desk and often still reads multiple books
for leisure. His wife of over 40 years, Anne, has also worked for
the business, and they both have taught me that although the
business has a big influence in our life, the most important is our
faith and our family."

WHAT LUCK
"At an ILMA annual meeting I was asked to meet with another
member to discuss Etna's ERP system. We elected to sit outside
to enjoy the beautiful weather. As luck would have it, halfway
into our meeting, a bird pooped on my leg. I'm not sure if the
gentleman I was with noticed, but I sure did! I had to flag down
a server to bring me a napkin to wipe off the excess and excused
myself to go to the restroom and wash my hands. I guess it is
considered good luck, but I just thought it was disgusting!"

LESSONS IN COURAGE
"My aunt Carolyn was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the
age of 48. I was 18 years old then, and she was like a second
mother to my brother and I. Carolyn was one of a few women
that began the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Ovarian
Cancer Coalition. Carolyn battled cancer for five long years,
going through several courses of chemotherapy and two major surgeries. Her battle has taught me to make the most of the
life we have been granted, never lose faith and to appreciate
our family. She's taught me to never give up and to create our
own path as her courage and strength defied the odds experts
gave her."
