There are several methods of conversion in use, which may cause slight differences in results. The Analysis attempts to follow the practice of the jurisdiction wherever possible. 1. A method widely used in Canada is to multiply the monthly benefit by 12, divide by 365, and multiply the result by 7. Example for a monthly benefit of $750: $750 x 12 x 7 = $172.60 365 2. A second method is to multiply the monthly benefit by 12 and divide by 52. $750 x 12 = $173.08 52 3. A third method is to divide the monthly benefit by 4.3 or a similar figure, because the average month contains 4.33 weeks. $750 = $174.42 4.3 Next Edition of the Analysis A complete revision of this publication is printed annually. The 2021 edition will be available in July 2021. It will reflect changes made in workers' compensation laws effective Jan. 1, 2021. 144 | 2020 Analysis of Workers' Compensation Laws
