She and Howard have been married almost 30 years and have lived in the Atlanta, Ga., metro area since 1979. Education runs in the family—Howard, a former middle school principal, owned a mortgage credit bureau in Atlanta for many years before retiring. After many Navy moves this one was her choice. She’s worked for an orthodontist for a year while pondering what she’d like to do next. They enjoy reading, touring the sites around Washington, D.C., by bike and spending time at their condo on the beach in Ocean City. They volunteer as cat handlers at the animal shelter, helping with kitty adoptions and with fund raising events, and are active in their new homeowners’ association. Meanwhile they moved from a 4,200 square foot house to a 1,500 square foot condo in Bethesda last year, buying all new furniture and accessories. They and their three cats love high rise living—12th floor at the beach and 16th floor in town. They’ve had dinner with Carol Lipson Fivozinsky and her husband Sherm, who live close by, having recently bought a beautiful, huge townhouse in a new complex in Potomac. Suzanne also stays in touch with Nancy Williams Bishop who’s in California, where she enjoys riding her horse and learning to surf.
