More examples include tools that can: • Perform energy analysis of early schematic design models to improve sustainability and c ompliance w ith r atings syst ems suc h as LEED . (see Figur e 1:Energ y Analysis) • Extract quantity-take offs and produce budget estimates at various stages of design to maintain critical alignment with budget objectives and provide decision support for selecting among alternative solutions. (see Figure 2: Cost Model) • Link the elements of a design model to the work breakdown structure of a construction schedule, allowing a t eam to v irtually build a pr oject and optimiz e that complex process before going to the field. (see Figure 3: 4D Schedule Model) • Guide the selection of specific building products from the universe of possibilities to ones most well-suited to the unique r equirements of a particular project by leveraging infor mation alr eady in models. (see Figur e 4: Product Selection and Configuration) • Plan site logistics for site preparation, equipment deployment, material laydown, etc. over the course of construction.
